Claude Code inside Kami, with its edits reviewed in the editor, plus terminal tabs, diff viewer options, and Match Case, Words and Regex in find.
Highlights
- Claude Code in Kami
- A Claude side panel and a full-window Claude surface run Claude Code sessions with a live transcript, a prompt box, permission reviews and your past chats. It uses the
claudeCLI’s own login. - Reviewing Claude’s edits
claudein the terminal connects to Kami. Each proposed edit opens as a diff you can edit, reject hunk by hunk, or accept with⌘S.- Terminal tabs
- Run several shells side by side. Colors, cursor shapes, mouse reporting and bracketed paste now work, so programs like vim, htop and the Claude Code TUI behave as they do in a native terminal.
- Diff viewer options
- The Git view’s diffs go unified or side by side, collapse unchanged lines, ignore whitespace and highlight changed words.
- Match Case, Words, Regex
- IntelliJ’s three find toggles come to
⌘Fand⇧⌘F, along with regex replacements.
Claude panel
16 changes⌥⌘Cshows or hides the Claude side panel, and⇧⌥⌘Copens the full-window Claude surface.⌘Wleaves the surface.- The transcript renders markdown, tool calls as cards, subagents, permission requests and turn-end dividers. Claude’s thinking gets its own muted block.
- The prompt box grows with your text and has
/command and@file menus, a context meter, and a send/stop button.↵sends,⇧↵adds a line,⎋interrupts, and⇧⇥cycles the permission mode. - Mode and model dropdowns sit above the chat.
- Permission requests appear as cards. A file edit opens a review diff, and you can deny a request with a note.
- A new session opens on a welcome screen with starter prompts.
⌘Nstarts one on the Claude surface or in the panel, and a blank session is reused rather than duplicated. - The history lists every past chat in the repository, worktrees included, grouped by age. A resumed chat shows its saved messages and runs in the checkout it started in.
- An ended session keeps its transcript and prompt and offers Resume.
- “Restore files to here” on a prompt rewinds file changes to that point.
- A “N lines from <file>” chip above the prompt shows the editor selection Claude can see.
- Transcript text is selectable (
⌘Ccopies,⌘Aselects all). Replies and prompts have Copy buttons. - Right-click menus on sessions (open, stop, resume, copy id or resume command, reveal, end) and on transcript rows (copy, edit in prompt, restore, open file, copy conversation).
- A titlebar chip shows when Claude is working or needs you, and opens the waiting session or review. A macOS notification fires when the window is in the background.
- “Log in…” runs
claude /loginin a terminal tab when the CLI is not signed in. - Switching projects restarts Claude for the new project.
- Markdown in chat and in the preview gets syntax-highlighted code blocks, numbered and task lists, strikethrough and clickable links. Code blocks have Copy and Insert buttons.
Claude Code bridge
5 changes⌘Escopens a Claude tab in the terminal runningclaude, connected to this window.- Claude’s proposed edits open in a review view. Edit the proposal, reject a single hunk with
⌥⌘N, accept with⌘Sor⌘↵, or reject with⌘⌫. - If the target file changes on disk during a review, the review re-reads it and shows a notice.
⌥⌘Ksends the selected lines to Claude as an @-mention.- Claude can open files, check for and save unsaved editors, and read diagnostics through the bridge. It will not save over a disk conflict.
Terminal
8 changes- Terminal tabs:
+on the strip or⌘Tin the terminal opens one. View ▸ New Terminal Tab opens one from anywhere. - A × on the tab strip hides the panel and leaves every tab running.
- Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough and dim text, cursor shapes, wide characters, full key encoding, bracketed paste and mouse reporting.
- Programs can set the tab title, ring a visual bell and copy to the clipboard. An exit notice appears when a shell ends.
- Function keys and other non-
⌘app shortcuts now reach programs running in the terminal. terminalOptionAsMetamakes Option act as Meta. It applies to open tabs as soon as you change it.- Open in Terminal opens a new shell tab in that directory instead of typing
cdinto the current one. - Only the visible tab repaints, so a busy background tab no longer slows the window.
Editor
10 changes- When a file changes on disk under unsaved edits, a conflict bar offers Compare, Keep mine and Take disk.
- Hover over the scrollbar to preview the code at that spot. Over a change mark, the preview also shows the removed lines. Turn it off with
scrollbarPreview. - While the gutter’s change popup is open, the changed text is tinted in the editor. The popup’s buttons show a pointer cursor.
- Tab name colors and Search Everywhere’s file colors update as soon as you edit or save, without waiting for the next git poll.
- Annotate, Diff vs HEAD, the side-by-side diff and committing a single hunk now work on files in nested or vendored repositories.
- The editor context menu’s Git submenu stays on screen, and its items can be clicked.
- Editor tabs put the × on the right with tighter spacing.
- Bigger fold chevrons in the gutter.
- File ▸ Open Scratch File… reopens scratch files saved on disk.
- Importing IntelliJ
.ideasettings brings in the Vue code style.
Code intelligence
4 changes⌘-click and⌘Bon a declaration open an IntelliJ-style usages popup under the word.- Navigation in TypeScript projects waits for the project to finish loading, so early jumps no longer land on the wrong place.
- SQL inside PHP strings is highlighted as SQL, whether it has a
@langannotation or just reads as a query. - Numbers in SQL no longer highlight as strings.
Git view
15 changes- Choose a unified or side-by-side diff, collapse unchanged lines behind a clickable bar, ignore whitespace, and highlight changed words. The options are in the diff header and in a new Git tab in Settings.
- A diff opens at its first change.
- Line staging takes exactly the selected rows, including with whitespace ignored.
- The diff header wraps instead of clipping in a narrow column.
- The current branch is highlighted in the sidebar and the toolbar.
- “Rebase current branch onto this” in the branch menu.
- Each sidebar section has a pinned header over its own list. Hide and Show only are in the row’s context menu.
- Stash and Pop in the toolbar. Clicking a stash lists its changed files.
- A “N changes · M staged” chip shows while the tree is dirty and takes you back to the uncommitted changes. Uncommitted changes are marked in one orange.
- Drag to resize the unstaged and staged lists and the commit box.
- Repository tabs are labelled by folder name and can be dragged to reorder them.
- Middle-click a submodule to open it in a new tab. A submodule that is not registered has its own badge and can still be opened.
- The mouse’s Back button and
⌘[leave a diff for the graph. - An × clears the ref filter.
- The commit description box no longer shows line numbers, and the “gone” badge is removed from the branch list.
Database view
6 changes- Overhauled explorer: header actions (add, refresh, collapse all), a filter that searches every cached catalog, icons for each kind, connection status dots, row counts, hover actions and arrow-key navigation.
- The explorer scrolls sideways for long names, and the explorer and result grid show scrollbars while they scroll.
- Results split the console by proportion, and “Results beside” moves them to the right.
- The result grid looks like IntelliJ’s: cell borders, a fixed row-number column, column types on hover, key icons on primary-key columns, right-aligned numbers, a dimmed
<null>and striped rows. - The explorer, results and table dialog panes can be resized, and they remember their sizes.
- The WHERE/ORDER BY bar no longer pushes Apply off the edge.
App
3 changes- Every panel divider can be dragged, and a double-click resets it. A divider no longer catches drags through an open dialog.
- Text fields scroll long text to keep the caret in view instead of spilling past their edges.
- Middle-click closes terminal, database console and Git view tabs.
